At the Good House Company we offer advice, design & build and construction services to clients who have a plot or looking to build their own home.  Our expertise in renovating homes throughout Scotland, allows us to offer a fully managed service.

With over 15 years' experience and now one of the largest independent building companies in central Scotland, we have an experienced "all trades" team who are able to quote and deliver all manner of projects.  Our services include detailed project management and fair/upfront pricing so you can be sure of a quality finish and costs.

Our full Design and Build service, means you only need to deal with one company from the initial land appraisal before purchasing your plot, to architectural services and planning permissions, right through to project completion when we handover the keys of your finished home to you.


The Good House Company work with a bank of preferred architects, technicians and engineers who we will collaborate with from start to finish on your design and build project to ensure what that your new home design is within your budget and timescales.


For many of our self build clients, finding the right plot of land can be the most difficult part of building their own home.    There is much to consider during a land appraisal such as location, planning permissions for the plot, aspect and last but not least, the actual design of your home.

With so much to consider, The Good House Company offers a Land Appraisal service to help clients through the maze of finding the right plot.   As a property developer, we are often approached by sellers about single plot sites and are given first refusal before a plot goes on the open market.   We can also help you look at sites for you which are on the market with a view to what the planners will allow you to build on that plot.  We will do an appraisal on the site, looking at utilities, look over the title (for rights, servitudes and burdens) which could impact your build, gives a good indication of costs for certain elements before you buy, as well as some ideas around the value of the finished home which may help guide your budgeting.

We specialise in the renovation of older properties, adapting them into more usable living space while retaining their character and form.    Working throughout Kinross, Perthshire and Fife our team has worked on projects big and small, taking traditional stone buildings and transforming them into luxury homes. 

We have a team of time serviced, experienced tradesmen who provide traditional trades such as stone masonry, lime rendering/wet-dash and lime mortar pointing enabling us to bring older properties back to life.

Of course, it’s not just about renovating a property, it’s also about making it more energy efficient and more functional as a whole, including electrics and data networks to plumbing and heating.

Our previous property renovation projects including steading conversions, farm building and even castellated buildings – bringing them back to life with the latest comforts and technology inside.



Having worked on projects throughout Scotland, our team of project managers have a passion for bespoke new build homes.   While we offer a design and build service, we also work with clients on a project build basis, working with your appointed architect.

Our team will work closely with you and your architect to ensure that your ideas become a reality.   We are very pro-active using the most appropriate build method and materials to create the most energy efficient homes.

It’s our aim to find the right build package for each of our clients, which is why we can work with you in a variety of ways  allowing us to utilise our buying power and a saving to you.


Typically, our contracts are fixed price so you know what you are getting, which includes a detailed specification and budgets for items such as kitchens and bathrooms.  Payments are broken into stages so you know what’s coming and will work hand in hand with any self-build mortgage provider.
