The spectacular sight of thousands of pink-footed geese arriving to winter at Loch Leven is just one of the myriad attractions to be enjoyed at Flockhouse Mains.

Set amidst the gently rolling hills of rural Kinross-shire, the development commands stunning views over the loch, home to RSPB Vane Farm Nature Reserve and evocative of Scotland's rich history. It was here that Mary Queen of Scots was incarcerated in 1567, and ferries run regularly to the castle where she languished for some months before making her escape.

Thanks to a newly-created Heritage Trail, you can explore the loch by foot or by bicycle, taking full advantage of the wealth of bird-watching and fishing opportunities on offer.

Outdoor enthusiasts are admirably catered for with an extensive network of tracks through Blairadam Forest that are ideal for cycling and horse-riding; the Scottish Gliding Centre is just along the road at Portmoak, and more than 100 golf courses - including the famous Old Course and Gleneagles - are within easy striking distance.
